We All Scream for National Ice Cream Day in Baltimore

Summer is the perfect time to enjoy one of our favorite desserts, ice cream, and what better time to eat it than on National Ice Cream Day? July was made national ice cream month, with the third Sunday as the designated day itself. This year, it falls on July 16th. 

Here in Baltimore, there are several places to check out for some of the best ice cream flavors. We have made a list of our favorites for you to check out:

With locations in both Canton and Federal Hill, BMore Licks is a 2nd generation owned ice cream shop, boasting more than 100 different flavors. Along with their pet-friendly ice cream, some of their favorite human flavors include their Dirty Grasshopper, Holy Cannoli, and Samoa. They also have rotating flavors for each season, so be sure to check those out when they’re available!

Moo Moo Cows Ice Cream in Federal Hill has a selection of ice cream, snowballs, and hot dogs ready for everyone to enjoy. With the option of dairy-free ice cream, they have flavors available such as Cow Tracks, Strawberry Marble, and Peach Pie. If you’re a fan of breakfast as well, check out their Belgian Waffle Sunday!

Over in Hampden is The Charmery, where they focus on making ice cream with fresh products from local farmers and the best ingredients. You can order a pint of ice cream for pickup or one of their ice cream pies! Some of their flavors include Fitzgerald's Rickey, Keepers of the Flame, and the Mud Slide.

With locations inside Lexington Market, Cross Street Market, and Broadway Market, Taharka Brothers Ice Cream offers a lovely selection of ice cream flavors both seasonal and inspired by local events. Some of their current flavors are the Matcha Mochi, Roasted Strawberry, and Keep Ya Head Up.

Baltimore in a Box is an ice cream shop in Hampden dedicated to Baltimore, with flavors for different aspects of our lovely home. With wild yet captivating flavors such as their Utz Crab Chip, Downy Ocean, and Salty Balty, you may find yourself your next favorite flavor!
