Dining Outdoors in Baltimore

Aug 18, 2023

National Eat Outside Day is August 31st, making it the perfect time to grab a bite to eat! Whether you're having a picnic, eating at a restaurant, or checking out a new food truck, this is the day to leave the house and check out new places.

Dining outdoors on this day can even be as simple as taking your meals outside and eating in the warm summer sun. Here in Baltimore, there is a wide array of different places to dine outdoors at, and we have compiled a list of our favorites!

Outdoor Dining in Fells Point

Barcocina is a wonderful outdoor spot to grab some brunch! They also have bottomless mimosas every day until three and are available for private events. Dinner is served after three and includes delectable dishes, such as the cheesesteak empanadas and rockfish veracruz.

Ampersea is a prime outdoor dining spot, right on the waterfront. Some of their signature dishes include their lobster roll, mushroom risotto, and their swordfish sandwich.

Outdoor Dining in Federal Hill

Little Havana is the best spot to grab Cuban food in Baltimore and they have an amazing outdoor patio with harbor views. Some of their chef’s specials include ceviche, coconut shrimp tacos, and more! They’re known for their mojitos, so be sure to grab a seat outside and check them out when you have the chance.

If you find yourself in Cross Street Market in Federal Hill, then you have to check out the Watershed. This rooftop restaurant serves some of Maryland’s finest crab creations and offers a wide selection of other entertainment options, including a projector showing different sporting events and a gaming area.

Outdoor Dining in Harbor East

For a calming Mediterranean atmosphere, check out Ouzo Beach in Harbor East. Listen to the live DJ on weekends as you look over the water and enjoy the food. Be sure to try out some of their drinks too, such as their Parascom or Herculean Flask.

With harbor views, Loch Bar is a seafood tavern and whisky bar that’s perfect for outdoor dining. This bar is one of the largest raw bars in the region, and they also have one of the largest whisky selections in the area. Feel free to enjoy their Loch burger as you listen to their live music.

Maximón in Harbor East is full of food and atmosphere with inspiration from Mexican and South American cuisine and culture. All their products come from the community and they give back by donating a dollar from every guacamole sale to Baltimore’s Hispanic Youth Tech Center. So be sure to order their guac, as well as other dishes, like their Lamb Barbacoa tacos!

Other Outdoor Dining in Baltimore
Hampden has their own outdoor beer and cocktail garden in the form of Hampden Yards, a calming atmosphere to dine on delicious food and drinks. Try a charcuterie box while you check out their selection of cocktails on a sunny afternoon.

If you’re a fan of German culture and food, then you’ll have to head over to Maienfels Biergarten. This outdoor establishment is pet and family friendly, serving dishes such as bratwurst, and of course, a decent selection of beers. A portion of the proceeds here will also go to the St. Francis Neighborhood Center of Baltimore, which is dedicated to ending generational poverty.

Drift Bar in Canton is one of Baltimore’s newest cocktail bars, set up on a floating dock with an atmosphere inspired by the Mediterranean coast. They serve handcrafted cocktails, such as their Yellowfin banana daiquiri and food, such as their sweet and fiery shrimp. Grab some friends and enjoy this new outdoor gem!
