What’s Happening for the Super Bowl in Baltimore

Feb 9, 2023

Today, the Super Bowl is one of the most watched events on television each year, rivaling other events like the World Series. The Super Bowl was born when rivalries between the NFL and the newer AFL came to an agreement that the two would compete against each other before merging in 1970. The event was such a success that after the merger, the NFL split into two conferences, where victors from each conference would go head to head for the Lombardi Trophy.

Even though the Ravens didn’t make it to the Super Bowl this year, you can still have fun watching the big game in Baltimore:

Pre-Game

Looking to get energized before the game? Go for a Super Bowl Pre-Party Run sponsored by Charm City Run in Fells Point. Start your morning with a refreshing walk or a run, and be sure to stick around for free snacks, food, and shots!

Places To Be

If you’re one to go out to watch the big event, then we have a couple recommendations for you. The Point in Fells will be hosting their own Super Bowl Watch Party. Be sure to watch the game and halftime show while enjoying a plate of their favorite comfort foods.

Jimmy’s Famous Seafood is also hosting their own Super Bowl Party for the 32nd year in a row. Take a gander at their top-shelf open bar, menu, games, and more! They’ll have three rooms with three different vibes all showing the game, so feel free to head over and check out the party. There will also be free merchandise handed out throughout the evening.

For those looking towards additional entertainment during the game, there will be a Super Bowl Cornhole Tournament and Chili Cookoff fundraiser at Hope City Church. Admission includes all you can eat chili, drinks, and a view of the Super Bowl on their jumbo screen. Winning teams at the tournament will receive amazon gift cards! Each entry to the chili contest is also equal to one admission ticket.

Eagles fans in Baltimore will have a place to watch the game at Magerk’s Pub in Federal Hill. Check out the bar during the game and grab one of their Philly cheesesteaks to cheer on Philadelphia from Baltimore. The big game will be playing on all of their tv screens.

Savor the Flavor

Some of you may prefer to host your own Super Bowl watch party in your Anthem House apartment home. If you’re looking for snacks for your guests, be sure to check out these local options:

Sally O’s in Highlandtown has a wide selection of platters available for catering on Super Bowl Sunday! Options include nachos, buffalo chicken dip, wings, a smashburger platter, and more. Preorder today, then pick up your order on Sunday, hot and ready to eat.

Cheese platters are a classic when it comes to watching the Super Bowl. The best place to get these for your watch party is at Cheese Galore and More in Federal Hill. Orders only need to be placed the day before, so plan out your selection of spreads, brie, cheddar, dips, and whatever else you desire.

Something that is always nice to have is a board of snack foods, something that Boards In a Box in Highlandtown specializes in. Order any size you desire for your watch party, with options such as vegetarian, nut free, and even with decor, such as number or letter cut outs for your favorite player.

Kisling’s Tavern in Canton will be available for catering, private room rentals, and to order platters from. Platter types include several wing flavors, subs, crab dip and more!

Happy Super Bowl Sunday

Whether or not you root for the Eagles or the Chiefs, or are just there for the commercials, we hope you have a great Super Bowl Sunday and support local Baltimore businesses in the process!
