We’re Melting For National Ice Cream Month

Jul 20, 2021

Honestly, we think that every month should be National Ice Cream Month, but it is officially celebrated in July. The holiday was created by President Ronald Regan in 1984. It’s a great opportunity to treat yourself to a cone, dish, or shake of your favorite flavor. Go ahead, get all the toppings you want––it’s a celebration, after all!

Here’s the scoop on where to get all the best ice cream in Baltimore, all not too far from your home here at Anthem House:

Moo Moo Cows

With ice cream made from a fourth-generation dairy farm, it’s hard to get fresher than a cone from Moo Moo Cows in nearby Federal Hill. Over 30 flavors (rotating daily with unique options like Fruity Pebbles and Coconut Matcha) can be made into thick milkshakes, waffle cones, sundaes, or a “moofait.” They also have dairy-free soft serve if you prefer a vegan, cow-free scoop!

Taharka Bros

Another Federal Hill favorite, Taharka Bros is much more than just an ice cream store. Inspired by the impact of socially conscious companies like Ben and Jerry’s, the founders set out to create a brand rooted in change––and quality ice cream! Now, they serve up an impressive selection of creative flavors like their signature Honey Graham. They also have locations in Remington and Fells Point, so you’re never too far away from a delicious Taharka treat.

Bmore Licks

Indecisive menu browsers might want to spend some time perusing the Bmore Licks website before heading to the shop––they have over 100 flavors of handmade soft-serve ice cream and over 30 flavors of hard ice cream to choose from. And no worries if you are vegan, dairy-free, or gluten-free––they have flavor options to accommodate dietary preferences. Check out the impressive selection at either of their two locations in Federal Hill or Canton.

The Charmery

You’re sure to be charmed by The Charmery in Hampden. This super cute, retro-inspired ice cream shop has tons of fun flavors to offer. Whether you go all out for Butter Croissant with Orange Marmalade, or you’re feeling more Pure Vanilla, you’ll love your handcrafted cone, shake, or float.

Fells Point Creamery

If you’re grabbing dinner across the harbor, Fells Point Creamery is the perfect dessert spot to hit afterward! They’re serving up classic cones, shakes, and even ice cream cakes––perfect for your next summer event!

Miss Twist

Remember the joy of hearing that song when the ice cream truck finally arrived in your neighborhood? Enjoy your favorite nostalgic treats with Miss Twist, an ice cream truck! You can choose from vanilla, chocolate, and (of course) twist, then load up with your favorite topings. Plus, you can even track the truck’s location with their special Truck Tracker.

Treat Yourself

We hope you take advantage of National Ice Cream Month and treat yourself to a frosty treat this month! Don’t forget to share photos of your picture-perfect cones with us on social media, @AnthemHouseApts.
