Treat Yourself To Baltimore’s Best Holiday Treats

‘Tis the season to treat yourself: the holidays are here! Grab a mug of hot chocolate and peruse our list of some of the best holiday treats available in Baltimore!

The Coolest Hot Chocolate Bombs

Hot chocolate bombs are all the rage this holiday season. These delicious treats are like a bath bomb you can eat: simply plop it into hot milk of your choice, and the chocolate shell will melt into delicious hot chocolate, while a flurry of marshmallows float to the surface. Or, for a decadent addition to your routine, try adding one to a cup of coffee!

Sacre Sucre, located in Fells Point, is a pastry shop filled with delectable treats, like the Holiday Tree Hot Chocolate Bomb. Each tree makes 3-4 cups of cocoa! Treats can be pre-ordered on their website, and in-store pick up begins on December 14th. Bakeology over in Gwynn Oak also makes an amazing hot chocolate bomb! Classic Cookies

Nothing says holiday quite like cookies! Good thing there are lots of places to stock up on almost any variety of cookie imaginable right here in Baltimore. Shop the #Crustmas menu at Crust by Mack in Woodberry for delicious holiday treats. Their classic rainbow chip cookies are a never-fail crowd pleaser. Over in Canton, Café Dear Leon is also serving up an assortment of cookies. Their chocolate chip cookies are so good, they might as well be fresh out of Mrs. Claus’ kitchen. While you’re there, you’ll also want to try a mug of their gram-worthy hot chocolate made with Valrhona white chocolate and cocoa powder.

Looking for something unique to add to your cookie platter? Dooby’s in Mt. Vernon is spicing things up with the Mexican Hot Chocolate Cookie, a dark chocolate cookie with mexican chocolate spices and marshmallows. We also love their Gingerbread Scone, a scone spiced with gingerbread spices, featuring a brown sugar glaze and candied ginger garnish. You can order online here.

Scrumptious Candy Apples

Candy apples aren’t just a theme park treat. Lisa Ann’s makes absolutely divine decadent apples that will wow you. The Holiday Apple is a vision of dark chocolate, crushed peppermint candies, and caramel. The Sweet Sample Gift Box also makes a great gift for your loved one with a sweet tooth! Celebrate with Cupcakes

For classic confections like cupcakes, look no further than Midnite Confections in nearby Federal Hill. They have some treats sure to put you in the holiday spirit, including eggnog cupcakes and gingerbread cupcakes. Check out their Instagram page to see each of the 12 flavors that rotate daily. You can even order cupcakes straight to your Anthem House apartment home via Postmates or GrubHub! Orders can also be placed in-person at their shop in Federal Hill.

Delicious Donuts

Donuts are a great treat any time of year, but they’re especially magical with festive flavors around the holidays. Full Circle Donuts makes a Gingerbread Latte Donut, which perfectly pairs with a seasonal cup of coffee. You can preorder by email, or order in person at their storefront in Hampden.

A European Delicacy

Fans of The Great British Baking Show might be familiar with this next treat. Christmas stollen is a European holiday tradition, usually a yeast bread that’s filled with dried fruits and spices and covered in powdered sugar. Hoehn’s in Highlandtown makes an incredible seasonal Stollen that’s perfect if you’re looking to try something new this year! They also have a large selection of donuts, buns, tarts and more.
