Nearby Malls

Baltimore located near a of a bunch of great malls, all within a close drive. Harborplace is even located right in the city. To the north, Towson Town Center and White Marsh are home to a wide variety of stores. To the south, Arundel Mills  and Columbia also boast great options.

Small Business Saturday

Shopping small is a great way to support local businesses, so that you can buy gifts that give back to our community. Small Business Saturday was started in 2010 by American Express as a way to promote local shopping. Since then, it has spread across the country and has been adopted as a resolution in all 50 states. Last year, there were over 7,500 “Neighborhood Champions,” individuals and organizations who support the day and plan events and activities.

By choosing to shop small, you are helping Baltimore families and entrepreneurs continue to do what they love, and you’ll have a new purchase you love, too. Here are some businesses that will be hosting events this year:

In Harbor East, check out the 3rd Annual Black Friday Block Party  from 11-4pm and “avoid the mall mayhem!” Enjoy a mimosa and bloody mary bar as well as donuts from Migue’s Minis, and you check out giveaways and raffle prizes. Looking for luxurious gifts that make your home feel like a spa? Lush is hosting a private shopping event  at their store before they open to the public, so you can browse their incredible selection of scrumptious-smelling bath and body products before the rush.

Antique Exchange Interiors in Hampden is hosting a week-long sale, so whether you love the energy of the Black Friday rush or prefer to spend the day indoors enjoying leftovers, you can still take part in the sale.

In Fells Point, a few stores are hosting specials, too. Check out Poppy and Stella  for boutique-style clothing and accessories on both Black Friday and Small Business Saturday. Celebrate “Relaxed Friday” at MiY Home  for discounts on great home-ware and furniture, and indulge in some champagne. Plus, The Shopsmall Sellabration  event on Saturday includes over 45 vendors, featuring Main Street-wide discounts and raffles.

You can also stock up on great gifts at the Cross Street Holiday Market in Federal Hill. This showcase features over 40 makers from the Baltimore area, so it’s a perfect place to pick up something for everyone on your list in one trip. The American Visionary Arts Museum is also hosting a market, called Baazart, featuring creations from regional artists including everything from jewelry to paper crafts to apparel. It will be open on both Friday and Saturday, and make sure to check out the museum while you’re there.

The opening weekend of the Inner Harbor Christmas Village begins on Saturday the 30th! Get in the holiday spirit with shopping, the tree lighting ceremony, delicious food and more. They’ll be open all the way until Christmas Eve, so you can return for your last-minute shopping as well.
