Spending September in Baltimore

Sep 9, 2022

If you’re looking for something to do this September, check out these spectacular events in Baltimore, all not too far from your home here at Anthem House.

Oktoberfests

While the official Oktoberfest is being held in Germany, there are still several places around Baltimore. At the Guilford Hall Brewery, experience all-you-can-drink beer, live music, and contests during their Oktoberfest and First Anniversary event on September 24th!

Max’s Taphouse has several different kegs of German beer to try throughout the weekend of September 23rd-25th. For Das Best Oktoberfest at M&T Stadium on September 17th, this will be the largest Oktoberfest celebration in Baltimore. With over 150 different brews and wines available, this event is guaranteed to be perfect for the theme.

Cultural Festivals

Baltimore also has a variety of other festivals to attend. The St. Demetrios Greek Festival on September 23rd is a celebration of Greek culture, with authentic Greek food, music and folk dancing to enjoy! There are also many shops to explore and handmade pastries.

On September 24th, stop by Tianquiztli, an Artisan Market & Festival made to celebrate the culture of Latin America. Enjoy eating at one of the many food vendors while enjoying live performances and music. Be sure to also check out the several art vendors and traditions hosted at this event!

Neighborhood Festivals

Head on down to the Fell’s Point Fun Festival between September 30th and October 2nd for one of the most entertaining neighborhood occasions. Starting with a kick-off concert, this festival lasts for three days, all with drinks, musical performances throughout the event, delicious food, and more! Buy your tickets ahead of time to avoid the lines.

Originating in the 70s, the Locust Point Festival was made in order to bring the members of this community together. This year on September 17th, it’s a place to get together and browse local vendors, listen to live music and grab a drink.

Food to Crave

On September 23rd, BARCS Crab Feast is the perfect place to be if you’ve been craving all-you-can-eat crab! All tickets purchased include access to their platter of crab, soup, pasta, beverages and other foods! In addition to this feast, there will also be a raffle for attendees.

This year on September 25th, the ninth annual Devilled Egg Pageant is the place to be for all egg lovers. Take part in voting for the deviled egg contest by sampling one of the twenty entries by local competitors. The categories for this year are best tasting, best presentation, most creative, and best not-an-egg!

Get Fit

If you like spending time at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, then there are two events you can check out this September! The first is Yoga at the Zoo, on September 17th, where you can get close to nature by performing yoga poses with the animals that inspired them. The event is fine for those just starting out or already experienced!

The second event at the zoo is on September 25th. Run Wild for Autism is a race that raises awareness for autism and raises funds. Enjoy your favorite animals whilst completing this course, whether you decide to walk or run. All registered participants can receive a race t-shirt and zoo passes.

If you’re looking for something new to drink, and a chance to try out some yoga, Asana & Ale at Max’s Taphouse is the place to be on September 25th. Complimentary pints are provided for tickets purchased at the home of Maryland’s largest selection of beer.

Fashion

FashionEASTa is returning for its ninth year in Baltimore on September 17th! The main event is the big fashion show, featuring designs available at local boutiques so you can #WearTheRunway.

Then, spend the day shopping along Aliceanna Street whilst enjoying food from local vendors and fun live entertainment. Be sure to save the date to snag the latest looks first. VIP tickets are available, which grants you prime seating for the show and exclusive merch.

Charity

Equinox is a fundraising event made to support the mission to end homelessness in Baltimore. Held at the Baltimore Museum of Industry on September 24th, this event has a silent auction, as well as several vendors, wine and beer, and live music. Enjoy the views of the waterfront paired with the beautiful lighting!
