Eating Your Way through National BBQ Month in Baltimore

May 17, 2022

Spring has sprung and given us the perfect weather for venturing outside. Now is the time of year to start swimming, sunbathing, and cooking food right on the barbecue! May is National BBQ Month, the perfect time to cook or enjoy some delectable recipes.

Be sure to try the best BBQ in Baltimore — don’t limit yourself to just one spot — try them all!

If you want barbecue from scratch, Blue Pit BBQ is the place to go! Located in Hampden on Union Ave, Blue Pit has outdoor seating and is a great place for parties. They even host rehearsal dinners and provide catering for weddings. Don’t miss out on their bourbon-glazed St. Louis pork ribs!

The barbecue at Big Bad Wolf’s House of Barbecue is ranked as one of the best. With their Big Bad Wolf entrée, you are guaranteed to have a wonderful meal. Just look for the yellow brick house on Harford Road.

The Smoking Swine provides the best traditional barbecue in Baltimore and has been featured on the food network. They provide catering via their food truck, and they even do drop-off catering. Be sure to try their "Slap 'Yo Mama" Mac and Cheese with their East Carolina Pulled Pork sandwich.

Everyone at Mission BBQ has traveled the country for the best recipes and brought those recipes to their kitchens. They also have a mission to give back to charities in the community in support of our veterans and local heroes. All of their meat entrees come with complimentary cornbread, so try their meat sampler to go with it.

All meals prepared at Woodrow’s BBQ are prepared with their own unique smoker. Try their sandwiches such as The Woodrow, or even one of their chicken wing specials. All meats are hormone and antibiotic-free.

Have a Delicious National BBQ Month

Whether you decide to cook your own BBQ poolside on the grills at Anthem House, or try one of Baltimore’s best BBQ places, we hope you have a delicious month!
