Bon Appetit! Charm City’s Pet-Friendly and Outdoor Dining Hot Spots

Aug 22, 2019

As the summer begins to wind down and the hot weather shifts from stifling to pleasant, now is a great time to take advantage of the sunshine. Before the leaves turn orange, enjoy an orange crush outside! We’ve compiled this list of great local spots, each of which feature outdoor dining.

Enjoy the Outdoors Moments Away from Anthem House

Locust Point Steamers is a great family-owned spot, famous for their delicious seafood, especially hot steamed crabs. Enjoy your meal on the rooftop deck for end-of-summer sunset views.

Nick's Fish House is another great place for casual, outdoor dining. Their waterfront location is unbeatable. After sampling the delectable steamed crabs, join them for an evening of fun with cocktails and live entertainment on the deck. Now through September, there will be a different band performing almost everyday, so shake up your night and find a new favorite song.

For beautiful water views, check out Rye St Tavern! Their industrial era-inspired venue boasts views of the Patapsco River and picture-perfect outdoor dining. Dine on American favorites made with locally-grown ingredients and farm-raised meats.

Enjoy a Bite-- and Bring the Bark!
The rest of these great nearby spots are dog-friendly options for the whole family, four-legged members included.

South Point is a great option for casual, waterfront dining. An entertainment pavilion with a full bar and kitchen allow for a great night out, no matter the weather. Plus, there’s tons of grassy space for Fido to run around.

Since 1997, Little Havana has been a Charm City hit for Cuban dining. They offer a dog-friendly patio, and delicious eats like nachos cubanos and carne asada. You’ll want to leave room for churros, we promise!

Roll down the window and take your dog for a nice car ride to one of these great restaurants in other parts of the city.

Located in Fells Point, Riptide by the Bay has waterfront dining with scrumptious seafood options like classic Maryland crab cakes and local oysters. Nightly live entertainment and an outdoor patio make it a great pet-friendly option.

Another Fells Point favorite is DogWatch Tavern. Unleash your inner pup with a fun pool table, skee-ball and pinball! As the name implies, they are just as welcoming for your dog; they’ll be glad to offer some free treats and water bowls so that you can dine together.

Next on our list is The Admiral’s Cup. Live cover bands perform seven nights a week in the nautical-themed sports bar, and you can enjoy bar-food favorites with a twist like sweet potato tots and a tuna poke bowl. Warning: your dog may be begging to try a bite.

Bring your dog to dine outdoors downtown at Pratt Street Ale House, and sit back and relax with a selection of craft beers and excellent American eats. Try one of their in-house brews from Oliver Breweries.

There’s no better summery sweet treat than ice cream, and Bmore Licks serves up some of the best homemade ice cream in the city. They have so many flavors of both soft and hard ice cream, ranging from Maryland Mud to Eggnog Caramel to Sweet Potato Pie, it’s almost impossible to choose. Feeling adventurous? Try their unique ice cream taco or nacho platter-- topped with whipped cream of course! Treat your furry friend to a dog-friendly scoop of vanilla so that you can share.

As the summer winds down, make the most of the moment and treat both yourself and your pup to a nice evening outdoors. #LiveYourAnthem, together!
